We are seeking an enthusiastic Trade Counter / Internal Sales professional to help drive sales forward and build customer relations at Buttle’s plc. Based in our St Albans branch, you will be part of a dedicated sales team committed to growing our branch sales.
You will be responsible for day to day Trade Counter sales and enquires, plus developing new and existing business opportunities. High levels of customer service are key to being successful in this role as both face to face and telephone customer liaison will be required.
Buttle’s is a growing and well-respected independent builder’s merchant with a network of branches across London, Enfield, St Albans & Leighton Buzzard.
Responsibilities and Duties
Trade counter sales
Merchandising of product ranges
Co-ordinate internal sales activities.
Proactively contact businesses and private individuals by telephone to promote products and services.
Advise and explain Buttle’s product range and services to potential customers
Responding to a wide range of queries from customers (both trade and retail).
Sourcing non-standard products and negotiating prices.
Provide support to the external sales representative, raising quotes & orders etc to provide back-up support while they are out on the field.
Assisting with all areas of branch sales operations as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
Relevant persuasive sales, cross and upselling skills
Excellent IT Skills, written and verbal communication skills are essential
Knowledge of Bistrack or similar system is preferred.
Relevant product knowledge and previous sales experience in the Timber and Building materials sector would be an advantage.
